 Yousef Alhammadi

Yousef is an Arab-Iranian community organizer, researcher, and media professional based in Toronto. He holds a BA in Mass Communication with a concentration in Television Broadcasting and a minor in Film Studies from United Arab Emirates University. His work focuses on supporting 2SLGBTQ+ newcomers, refugees, and trans communities through advocacy, research, and storytelling. He is an incoming Community Organizer-in-Residence with the Queer and Trans Research Lab (QTRL) at the University of Toronto, a Community-Based Researcher with YSMENA’s Trans Photovoice Project, a volunteer with Rainbow Railroad, and a co-founder of ABJAD, an emerging initiative dedicated to queer SWANA stories, and histories.
