Porousha Shokoofeh

Porousha is a fourth-year Medical Sciences student exploring the intersections of One Health, physiology, and microbiology and immunology. He integrates a multidisciplinary perspective, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, wildlife, and environmental health. His clinical volunteering in Newmarket and London involves supporting underserved Middle Eastern communities in navigating healthcare systems, deepening his understanding of cultural competence and health equity. He extends this commitment beyond healthcare at a Guelph mosque, where he mentors youth in Farsi literacy, maintaining intergenerational language fluency and promoting cultural enrichment. Moving forward, Porousha aims to advance advocacy and awareness efforts for marginalized groups and contribute to improving healthcare outcomes for all.
