Fall 2023- Participate in the SMART Intervention Study for LGBTQ+ Youth in the MENA Community!

In June 2023, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our groundbreaking research study titled "SMART Intervention in Middle Eastern and North African Gay, Bisexual, and Trans Youth." The aim of this study is to promote mental health and reduce HIV risk behaviours among diaspora MENA gay, bisexual, and trans youth in Ontario.

How to Get Involved:

If you are a gay, bisexual, or trans youth of Middle Eastern or North African descent currently residing in Ontario, we invite you to be a part of this transformative study. Your participation will remain confidential, and you will be guided through a series of empowering interventions aimed at promoting self-compassion, mindful acceptance, and resilience.

Summer 2023- CANFAR-Funded YSMENA Study Completes Data Collection, Moves Forward with Analysis

The data collection phase of the CANFAR funded YSMENA program study has concluded as of July 2023. We successfully gathered survey responses from 239 young adults, aged 18-29, residing in Ontario and BC. Currently, during August and September, our dedicated YSMENA research team will be immersed in the task of analyzing this data.

This analysis aims to uncover insights into the experiences of these young adults. The study is set to wrap up in December 2023, during which we will compile our findings into a comprehensive report and submit abstracts to conferences, contributing to the wider body of knowledge.
