Anmar was born in Baghdad/ Iraq and holds a Degree of Translation from Al-Ma’moon University College. He is currently working with Capital Rainbow Refuge (CRR) with a client list of more than 220 LGBTQ people. He connects them with services such as housing, medical care, mental health issues, school. He also distributes PPE, laptops, tablets, and food vouchers. Previously he worked with the Alliance of south Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) in Toronto as a Peer Navigator. While in Turkey, he worked in refugee protection for the IMPR International Middle East Peace Research Center- UNHCR program.
